1. Important change: cedmmc three, Istanbul, 15.10.2012 Moved to Swissôtel The Bosphorus!

The Central and South European Drymix Mortar Conference cedmmc three takes place in Istanbul, Turkey, on 15. October 2012. A delegate welcome is planned for Sunday evening, 14.10.2012, 18:00 (sponsored by Calucem; additional sponsoring welcome. drymix.info is proud to communicate, that we are having more registrations and sponsors than initially expected.

This was the good news. The bad news is that due to this fact we had to change the venue. We have moved to beautiful Swissôtel The Bosphorus, near Besiktas Stadium (address: Bayıldım Cad. No:2 Maçka, Beşiktaş 34357, TURKEY, Telephone: +90 0212 326 11 00). We would like to apologize for the inconvenience, but we are sure that, considering the importance and relevance of cedmmc three this decision is the right one. 

Hotel Celal Aga Konagi, where we initially had planned cedmmc three is at a considerable distance to Swissotel. Those of you who have already booked a room there should think about moving near or to Swissotel. Rooms there are still available but of course more expensive than at our former hotel.

Event Details cedmmc three: Delegate Admission is 245 Euro. Members of drymix.info, MEDMA or SEADMA only pay 195 Euro. The admission includes the Delegate Welcome on 14. October, an extensive information package as well as all food and drink on the day of the meeting. Parking, accomodation and transfers are not included. Advance Registration and payment is mandatory through our website drymix.info/shop (Visa or Mastercard required) or directly with us (info@drymix.info). 

2. 7th SEADMA Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, 20. November 2012

The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA is inviting to its 7th Annual Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 20. November 2012 at Hotel Pullman Jakarta Central Park. This conference has rapidly become an anchor event for the drymix mortar Community throughout South East Asia, India and China.

A Delegate Welcome event is being planned on Monday night, 19.11. 2012 at a fabulous outdoor beer bar right next to our venue (free of charge, but advance registration is mandatory). Regular admission is 190 Euro, early booking for only 160 Euro is still possible until 30.9.2012. Online registration is available at drymix.info/shop (Visa or Mastercard required). Sponsors are still welcome, of course!

3. drymix-Convention, the Virtual Trade show on 05. December 2012

The Second drymix-Convention will take place again on 05. December 2012 from 08:00 until 18:00 CET. The platform is accessible on the internet from any location worldwide. Here, mortar experts can meet and exchange ideas as well as get to know the most recent product and technology developments presented by the raw materials and equipment suppliers. This online event is being organized by Vincentz Network in cooperation with drymix.info.

drymix-Convention features an exhibition hall for raw material suppliers (already over 10 exhibitors have registered their booths) with a special segment for production, packaging and jobsite equipment (please enquire with drymix.info, special conditions apply) as well as an Auditorium with now over 30 lectures on demand as well as live speeches by industry peers. As a new feature, the organizers are proud to announce a voice-over-IP function, which enables registered Delegates to (audio-) chat live with the colleagues they meet on the fair and the booth personnel of the exhibitors. Message for our exhibitors: on 18. Ocotber 2012, we will have our second sneak preview.

Last years show had 13 booths mostly from partners within the drymix.info network. and over 1.100 registered delegates from around the globe. Each exhibitor could welcome an average of 180 visitors per booth. A delegate survey conducted after drymix-Convention 2011 showed that the delegates were very satisfied with the exhibitors (76% rated them as good and satisfying, 11% even rated them as "excellent"). All delegates questioned were happy about the volume and quality of the lectures at the auditorium. Almost 50% said that the event was definitely worth their time and useful for their particular job function. 14% pointed out that they made valuable new contacts.

4. BASF Starts Production of Acrylic Dispersions in Durban, South Africa

BASF SE, headquartered in Ludwigshafen, Germany, has opened its first production plant for acrylic dispersions in South Africa located at Umbogintwini Industrial Complex in Durban. With this new production facility BASF intends to support its customers in the fast growing South African and Sub-Saharan coatings and construction industry with acrylic dispersions. South Africa already is the largest market for dispersions in the region. Details of the plant's capacity were not given. BASF has been active in Africa for about 90 years.

5. UltraTech Cement Increases Capacity by over 10 Mio Tons/a

UltraTech Cement, Mumbai, India has decided to tremendously increase its manufacturing capacity for Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) to 62 million tons per year in the next two years. The investment is valued at Rs 12,000cr (1.700 mio Euro). According to Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla „...the outlook for the cement industry remains challenging but (UltraTech) ...has an excellent market position.“ UltraTech will finance the expansion with a mix of internal accruals and borrowings. The investment includes clinker plants with grinding units in Chhattisgarh (Central India) and Karnataka (South Western India) as well as bulk packaging terminals, ready mix concrete plants and a waste-heat recovery system. These expansions will increase the company's capacity by 10.2 million tons per year. According to company sources, a cement price increase is being implemented currently, that became necessary due to the increased costs for coal, diesel and other inputs. UltraTech Cement is the 10th largest cement producer in the world. The company is part of Grasim Industries Limited of Mumbai, India which in turn is part of the Aditya Birla Group, also based in Mumbai, India.
