1. 2nd Southern Africa Drymix Mortar Meeting, Johannesburg, 20 and 21AUG26: RSVP for Ponte City!

The 2nd Southern Africa Drymix Mortar Meeting features technical sessions covering innovation, quality control, product performance and production (10 lectures). As in our first meeting 2019, there will also be an Expert Forum (panel discussion) with prominent representatives of the South African drymix mortar industry on the standardization of tile adhesives in Southern Africa. Our meeting takes place at conveniently located Protea Hotel Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton on 20. August 2026. The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association, Singapore, invites drymix industry experts in town for Asia Pacific Coatings Show (APCS) to a casual dinner at Kunstkring Paleis in Jakarta. APCS taking place at Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO, Kemayoran) from 26. to 28. August 2026, a good reason for SEADMA to organize a dinner with friends and peers on Thursday, 27. August 2026, 19:00 at historic landmark restaurant Kunstkring Paleis in Jakarta. Many friends from Indonesia and beyond have already registered. The dinner is being sponsored by SEADMA, RSVP is mandatory to info@drymix.info.

3. The 9th Central and South European Drymix Mortar Conference cedmmc9, Istanbul, Turkey, 17. September 2026: Register Now!

For the 9th time, drymix mortar experts and industry insiders will meet in Istanbul to discuss scientific research and application or production-related topics from the region and beyond. The key event for Turkey, Southern Europe and the Near East features an impressive list of technical presentations, as well as our traditional Bosphorus Cruise, directly from „our own“ pier at Çirağan Palace afterwards (RSVP mandatory). 4. The 2nd Egypt Drymix Mortar Meeting and University Symposium: Program

For the second time, drymix.info invites drymix mortar experts from Egypt and beyond to a technical exchange and networking. Our co-host is again Ain Shams University, in cooperation with Saxony Egypt University (New Cairo). The meeting is being supported also by The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA. Prof. Dr. Ghada Bassioni has agreed to act as Technical Chairwoman, she is assisted in the Technical Committee by Prof. Dr. Johann Plank of Technische Universität München (TUM), Ferdinand Leopolder (Executive Secretary, MEDMA) and Dr. Yola Schmitz of drymix.info. Included in our program will be a half-day guided tour to fantastic New Administrative City, Egypt's new Capital. 6. Omya Partners with Lafarge Ciments Distribution Concerning Limestone Fillers

Omya International AG, Oftringen, Switzerland, has signed an agreement with Lafarge Ciments Distribution SAS, Issy-les-Moulineaux, France (part of Holcim Group) to distribute its mineral (limestone) fillers for concrete and cement applications in France. The main technical focus of the cooperation is the reformulation of cement to reduce environmental impact. Omya has several production sites in France, most of them quite near Lafarge locations, which will reduce logistics cost.  The cooperation is expected to start on 01OCT26.

7. Sakret in Germany: Changes in Partnerships, Licensing and Regions

Sakret Trockenbaustoffe Europa GmbH & Co. KG, Berlin, Germany, has announced substantial changes in partnerships and organization in the regions of Germany. The drywall division of the Rohrdorf Cement Group, Rohrdorf, is expanding its Sakret operations to include the regions of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (northeast), and Baden-Württemberg (we reported earlier). For the NorthEast region, “Sakret Trockenbaustoffe Berlin Nord-Ost GmbH” has been formed.

The dutch licensee and shareholder of Sakret Europa, Remix Droge Mortel, Borger, The Netherlands, is taking over the licenses for the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Bremen, and a large part of Lower Saxony (north). For the North region, the new company “Sakret Trockenbaustoffe Nord GmbH” has been formed.

According to the Sakret Europa, nothing will change for customers, suppliers, or business partners for the time being, as a transition phase is planned to ensure handover of activities and the continuity of all processes.
