Attention Delegates to the Fourth Central and South European Drymix Mortar Conference cedmmc four (11. September 2014 at Çırağan Palace Kempinski Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey):
Please make sure you are properly registered and have paid your admission. Regular admission is 270 €, reduced to 220 € for members of drymix.info. Special reduced admission for drymix mortar manufacturers is only 160 €. Online registration is available at www.drymix.info (Visa or Mastercard required).
If you wish to participate in our Delegate Welcome "Between Two Continents", a dinner cruise on the Bosphorus, please make sure you told us so. Persons not particpating in the conference are not admitted unless invited by us. We meet on 10. September 2014, 19:00  at the jetty for private ships near the Be?ikta? Stadium. This cruise is sponsored by Calucem and Wacker Chemie, thanks a lot! Please bring your registration receipt, we would like to pre-register you for the next day already.

2. 9th Annual SEADMA Conference in Singapore, 11. 11. 2014: Programme and (new) Location: Pan Pacific Hotel

The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA invites to its 9th Annual  Conference at Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore. SEADMA will also hold its Annual General Assembly then. This unique conference traditionally unites drymix mortar experts from South East Asia in a professional and networking-oriented atmosphere. Regular admission is 195 €, reduced to 165 € for members of drymix.info. Like in Istanbul, we offer a reduced admission drymix mortar producers: they pay only 110 €. 3. Registration opens for 2nd Australia Drymix Mortar Meeting, Yarra Valley, VIC, 13. and 14.11.2014

The 2nd Australia Drymix Mortar Meeting takes place at in the wine country at beautiful Yarra Valley Conference Center, outside of Dixons Creek (about 60 km to the North-East of Melbourne). There are a limited amount of rooms at Yarra Valley Conference Center, and plenty around it. Louise Ward is prepared to find a room for you if you decide to stay overnight (recommended! see below). Accomodation will be fairly reasonable, we can however not publish any rates since several venues may be considered. The programme will be announced in our next newsletter.

A Delegate Welcome takes place in the evening of 13. November and after the meeting we head out to Yering Meadows Golf Club to play 9 holes for the First drymix.info Golf Cup. Non-golfers will enjoy a putting contest and the scenery (sponsoring for both extras is welcome).

Online registration is available at drymix.info (Visa or Mastercard required). Regular Admission is 210 € (300 AU$), reduced admission for members of drymix.info is 180 € (260 AU$), special admission for drymix mortar manufacturers is only 110 € (160 AU$).

4. Dubai: MEDMA General Assembly (16. Nov.) and Workshop on Big 5 (17. Nov.): Programme

The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA e.V. invites all its members, partners and friends to its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, 16. November 2014, 19:00. Traditionally, this meeting takes place at fantastic Al Badia Golf Club, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a nice dinner is included. The MEDMA AGM is free of charge for MEDMA members (up to two representatives for each company), all others pay 750 AED per person. Advance registration is mandatory by e-mail to info@drymix.info. MEDMA is looking for sponsors for this dinner.

In cooperation with The Big 5, the Middle East's undisputedly largest trade show for the construction industry, MEDMA is offering a workshop on drymix mortar technology and standards on Monday, 17. November 2014, from 10:00 until 13:30. The workshop takes place in one of the conference venues on the first level of Main Concourse (room remains tbd., follow the signage). Admission is free of charge, advance registration is recommended by e-mail to us.

5. BrüggemannChemical Joins drymix.info as Industrial Partner

L. Brüggemann KG of Heilbronn, Germany (BrüggemannChemical) decided to join drymix.info as Industrial Partner. The specialty chemicals company, founded in 1868 produces sulphur-based reducing agents, used as initiators for emulsion polymerization to produce dispersions and emulsions for binders, building and construction chemicals and adhesives. Also Brüggemann Chemical operates a chemical and environmental consultancy facility to assist small and medium enterprises (SME) to address the ever increasing requirements for registration, labelling and documentation of chemical products. The company has 180 employees at its Headquarters in Heilbronn.

6. JK Cement Started up White Cement Plant in Fujairah (UAE)

JK Cement Works (Fujairah) FZC, a subsidiary of JK Cement Ltd of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India has completed the startup procedure of its new plant in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. The green field plant was set up in cooperation with government-owned Fujairah Investment Establishment, the investment was about 550 mio AED (113 mio €). The plant produces both white clinker and white cement for delivery to 20 nations in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The design of the new plant enables it to switch from one product to another (white to grey cement & vice-versa) as per market demand. Its capacity is 600.000 t/a for white cement and 1 mio t/a for grey cement respectively.

7. Sika Opens New Mortar Plant in Conyers, GA, USA

Sika AG, Tuffenwies, Switzerland has recently opened its new plant at their existing Conyers, Georgia, USA location. An additional production facility for admixtures has been opened in Denver, Colorado, USA. The new, automated mortar producing facility will serve the south-east of the US and particularly the nearby Greater Atlanta area.The latest developments form part of Sika’s business expansion strategy, focusing on infrastructure and residential development projects, and bring Sika’s total number of manufacturing sites in the United States to 12.

8. H.B. Fuller Increases Prices for Vinyl Acetate-based Dispersions

The North America Polymer Group of H.B. Fuller Company, St. Paul, MN has recently announced a price increase for all its vinyl acetate-based dispersions (emulsion polymer products). Vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) copolymers, vinyl acrylics and PVAc homopolymers will increase by up to 66 Euro/t (= $0.03 US$ per wet pound). H.B. Fuller cites the continued shortage of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) and thus ever increasing purchasing costs as reason for the measure. VAM is a key component in the manufacture of these products. The price increase becomes effective August 15, 2014, or as contracts allow.
