1. Russian Mortar Days, 29.1.2014, Moscow: Last info for International Delegates

Russian Mortar Days 2014 is a cooperation of The Russian Federation for Factory Made Mortars SPSSS and drymix.info with Moscow Technical University MGSU (MCU). The eventtakes place at MGSU on 29. January 2014, check-in starts at 08:30. Recommended accomodation to beat Moscow traffic is Cosmos Hotel, although we have no special rates there. Admission is 295 Euro for international Delegates, please book online at www.drymix.info/shop (drymix.info members are eligible to a 50 Euro discount). Sponsoring spaces are still available and any support is welcome.

Special info for international delegates: if you have not registered and paid, please do so via our website or e-mail us for an invoice. If you are with a sponsoring company, you still must register and pay properly, please check internally. If you do not yet have a Visa for Russia, Hotel Cosmos is prepared to help you, but there are no guarantees given by them of course. We have arranged for a bus transfer from Hotel Cosmos to MGSU, we meet on 29. January 2014 at 08:30 and the bus leaves in front of the Hotel (at the bottom of the long stairway) at 08:45.

As in the previous events The Indian Drymix Mortar Conference is the place to network for mortar experts from the dynamic Indian Subcontinent and beyond. For the first time, drymix.info offers a new pricing structure for the various types of delegates: Regular Delegate Admission remains at 220 Euro (members: 195 Euro). The Fourth American Drymix Mortar Conference and Industry Showcase admmc four will take place at The Omni Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia, USA on April 8, 2014. The Technical Chairman Prof. Dr. Johann Plank, Technische Universität München, Germany (TUM), and the preliminary programme can be found below. Please note, that American Coatings Show takes place in the same period at the convention centre right next to Omni Hotel (actually from April 8 to April 10, 2014). This gives you on one side the opportunity to visit this important exhibition, on the other hand, accomodation might be hard to come by. We listed additional hotels within walking distance from CNN centre/ Omni Hotel on our website for your convenience. Needless to say, it is advisable to book accomodation soon.

4. Zoomlion Buys m-tec

Saint-Gobain Weber GmbH, Düsseldorf, Germany, the mother company of m-tec mathis technik GmbH, Neuenburg, Germany has recently signed an agreement with Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science&Technology Co., Ltd., Changsha City, Hunan, China concerning the sale of m-tec. m-tec, a long-standing member of drymix.info is an internationally active manufacturer of mortar mixing and conveying machinery and mortar plants and one of the pioneers in the field of silo logistics for construction sites. Zoomlion is a large manufacturer of various construction equipment and machines. m-tec and its activities will be integrated into Zoomlion's Concrete Machinery Division and become the key part of the segment Dry-Mixed Mortar Technologies.The transaction is said to be completed within the first quarter of 2014. A transaction value was not disclosed.
"m-tec will enable us to reach our growth targets in China, but also in other rapidly growing markets and helps us to become the global technology leader for the drymix mortar industry" says Xiaofei Chen, Vice President of Zoomlion and leader of the Concrete Machinery Division. Dr. Michael Meding, Speaker of the Board of m-tec expects „ (...) a tremendous improvement of our competitive position due to the huge production capacities and the wide-spread service network (of Zoomlion)."

5. Shanghai Sunrise Polymer Material Joins drymix.info as Industrial Partner

Shanghai Sunrise Polymer Material Co. Ltd., China, has decided to join drymix.info as Industrial Partner. The company, founded in 1998, focusses on the manufacturing of concrete admixtures as well as on dry additives for the mortar industry. In 2005, Shanghai Sunrise started to produce superplasticizers based on poly carboxylate technology, which are also being offered in dry powder form for cementitious and gypsum-based mortars.

6. Turkish Construction Industry: Exports are Rising

Despite the stagnant and slightly decreasing construction economy within the borders of Turkey, the Turkish construction industry is quite successful abroad: according to a report initially published by "Solidbau", Vienna, Austria, exports will beat the 2012 record value of close to 20.000 mio Euro in 2013. Turkey contractors and engineering companies have their focus on nearby Nations such as Iran, Middle East (strong focus on Saudi Arabia here), Ukraine Russia and Aserbaidshan and Turkmenistan (10.000 mio Euro turnover came from here in 2013 alone!) as well as Northern Africa (formerly mainly Libya, Egypt, Sudan, recently Ethiopia and the Sub-Saharan Nations). Europe only plays a minor role when it comes to exporting construction from Turkey. Turkish contractors build infrastructure as well as residential, industrial and commercial real estate. Thus, Turkey has successfully established its role as pivot joint between the continents, providing European high technology to the fast-growing Nations in the East and South

7. Lafarge Returns Minority Stake to Etex Group

Lafarge SA, Paris, France has announced it will return its 20% minority stake in the gypsum activities of the Etex Group. This package involves gypsum activities in Europe and South America. The transaction price agreed upon is a cash settlement of 145 mio, provided government and anti-trust authorities.

8. China Building Materials Association Establishes Ready-Mixed Mortar Branch

The China Building Materials Association(CBMA) has recently officially established its Ready-Mixed Mortar Branch. The formal ceremony took place inBeijing on 3. January 2014. About 220 executives  from over 130 mortar producing companies attended this meeting. Mr. Zhaojia Wang, Vice President of Beijing Building Materials Group (BBMG), became the Chairman of the new branch of CRMA. Mr. Hansheng Ma, formerly in the semi-government organisation Beijing Construction Committee, became the Executive Vice Chairman. Ms. Qunfang Xiao, Vice Director of Beijing Ready-Mixed Mortar Engineering Research Center, became the Secretary General. Also, executives from 31 mortar-related companies from throughout China were elected as Vice Presidents of Ready-Mixed Mortar Branch, such as Meichao Group, Jidong Cement, Baumit China, Jinyu Cement, Sany, Zoomlion, Wacker China, Akzo Nobel, Longhu and others.

CBMA (formerly the National Bureau of Building Materials Industry) entertains today 11 branches and hosts over 20 national associations. The Ready-Mixed Mortar Branch is the first industry association covering the whole production, combining equipment and raw material suppliers, universities and research institutions with mortar manufacturers and construction companies and contractors. Its goal is to help the government in setting standards for the national mortar industry, enhance the level of equipment and technology in mortar production and application, establish regional logistics systems.
