The Central and South European Drymix Mortar Conference cedmmc three, taking place in Istanbul, Turkey on 15.10.2012 at Swissotel The Bosphorus yields a great attendance, already over 120 delegates have registered. Unfortunately there are no more (decently priced) hotel rooms available at Swissotel.

As a special we will be presenting the Mega-Project "Maslak 1453" by Agaoglu Architects during the breaks. The greenfield property development Maslak 1453 is planned in Istanbul's Maslak area. Its over 15 towers will feature a fully self contained high-class living area, combined with shops, restaurants offices and small commercial operations. The entire area is surrounded by a park with recreational facilities.

2. MEDMA Invites to Open Members Assembly, Dubai, 05. November 2012

The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association is inviting all its members and interested industry professionals to attend its Open Members Assembly, Dubai, on 05. November 2012 at Al Badia Golf Club, Dubai (near Dubai Festival City). MEDMA President Laith Haboubi will address the assembly and Ferdinand Leopolder, Secreatry General will give a report on the past year. MEDMA will also present its Technical Bulletin 07 on occasion of this event. Dress code is casual, atmosphere will be similar.

There is no cover charge for this exclusive event, however, we do ask our members and partners to contribute to the cost of the Assembly (enquire with drymix.info). Advance registration by e-mail is mandatory for all those wishing to participate.

3. The 7th SEADMA Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, 20. November 2012

The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA is inviting to its 7th Annual Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 20. November 2012 at Hotel Pullman Jakarta Central Park. This conference has rapidly become an anchor event for the drymix mortar Community throughout South East Asia, India and China.

The Industry Showcase will feature a record amount of displays, we thank our sponsors explicitly. 4. Over 40 New Lectures on Demand at drymix-Convention, 05. December 2012

The Second drymix-Convention will take place on 05. December 2012 from 08:00 until 18:00 CET. The virtual platform is accessible on the internet from any location worldwide. Here, mortar experts can meet and exchange ideas as well as get to know the most recent product and technology developments presented by the raw materials and equipment suppliers. This online event is being organized by Vincentz Network in cooperation with drymix.info.

drymix.info has been recording new expert lectures all around the globe at events in Mumbai, Miami, Sydney and will soon do so soon in Istanbul and Jakarta. The auditorium will thus feature over 40 new lectures, also last years lectures will be accessible again. The technical focus for this online event is entirely on drymix mortars, its applications, production equipment and jobsite logistics. A special machinery section has been added to the regular showground.

5. Sicit 2000 has Joined drymix.info as an Industrial Partner

SICIT 2000 S.p.A., located in Chiampo, Italy, has decided to join drymix.info as Industrial Partner. Sicit 2000, founded in 1960, is a fine chemicals manufacturer, strongly focused on the production of Amino Acids for a wide range of applications. For the building industry the company manufactures retarders for gypsum. The products can be used in all gypsum based formulations. Sicit 2000 has two production sites with a capacity of 70 tons per day for liquid products and 40 tons per day for powders.

6. Wacker Increases VAc/E Dispersions Capacity in Korea

Wacker Chemie AG, Munich, Germany, has announced it will increase its production capacity in South Korea for Vinyl Acetate Ehylene Copolymer dispersions (VAc/E). Wacker will build a new plant with an annual capacity of 40.000 tons at its existing site in Ulsan on Koreas South-Eastern shore. The measure will almost double Ulsan's VAc/E dispersion capacity, it is expected to start up in January 2013. According to company sources, the investment sum will be around 10 mio Euro. Wacker intends to use the new capacity to satisfy the accelerating demand, especially in South East Asia.

7. Momentive Builds New Dispersion Plant in Thailand

Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. based in Columbus, Ohio, USA announced plans to build a new plant in Chonburi, Thailand, which will triple its capacity to produce acrylic-based dispersions in Southeast Asia. The plant, located on land purchased by Momentive in the Pinthong Industrial Estate Park, will produce a broad range of acrylic dispersions designed for use primarily in coatings, adhesives, and building and construction applications. In addition to production facilities, the new site will include product development and applications laboratories. Construction of the plant is underway and completion and commissioning is expected to occur in the first half of 2013. When fully operational, the plant is expected to employ 30 people. Momentive's existing, smaller plant in Samutsakorn, Thailand, which is on leased property, will be closed upon completion of the new facility. The company will continue to maintain its sales and administrative offices in Bangkok. Details about the volume of the investment and about the capcity of the new plant were not disclosed.

8. Erisim Makina becomes Industrial Partner of drymix.info

Erisim Makina, headquartered in Ankara, Turkey, has decided to become an Industrial Partner of drymix,info. The company, founded in 1994, is a designs and produces fully automated high-volume mixing plants. The company is specialized in process design, equipment design and in-house manufacturing, installation and commissioning of gypsum processing plants, plasterboard plants and gypsum and cement based dry mortar mixing plants. Erisim Makina also offers a wide range of process and bulk material handling machinery and equipment.

9. HeidelbergCement Builds Clinker Plant and Cement Grinding Facility in Togo

HeidelbergCement AG, headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany, is building a new  clinker plant with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes in the town of Tabligbo, some 80 km north-east of the capital of Lomé in Togo. This investment is estimated to cost over 190 mio Euro (> 250 mio US$). In addition, the company is building a new cement grinding facility with a capacity of 200.000 tonnes in Dapaong, 600 kilometers to the north. The clinker of the new plant will be processed to cement in HeidelbergCement’s grinding mills in Togo as well as in the neighbouring countries of Benin, Ghana, and Burkina Faso, replacing clinker that has previously been imported from overseas. The investment is expected to create around 1.300 jobs locally. HeidelbergCement is already operating 13 plants in eight countries in sub-Saharan Africa: Benin, DR of Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Togo. In Burkina Faso, the construction of a new cement mill is planned.
