1. First Australian Drymix Mortar Meeting, Sydney, 11. September 2012

Experts on drymix mortar and other construction products unite for the first time at The First Australian Drymix Mortar Meeting, Syndey, New South Wales on 11. September 2012, from 09:00 until 16:30. Conference hotel is Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific, directly on the ocean. The programme has been published in our last newsletter and is also available on www.drymix.info.

A delegate welcome event takes place on Monday night, 10. September, we meet in the lobby at 18:00, this event is sponsored by Construction Technology Australia and IMCD Australia, thanks a lot! 

Admission fee for the entire Meeting is 190 Euro/240 AU$, drymix.info members pay only 150 Euro / 190 AU$. Admission includes the Delegate Welcome, full access to all lectures and the Industry Showcase, an extensive information package as well as all food and drink on the day of the meeting. October 2012, from 09:00 until 16:30. A delegate welcome event takes place on Sunday evening, 14. October, we meet in the lobby at 18:00 (seating is limited, please reserve).

Admission fee for this Meeting is 245 Euro. The early booking rebate of 50 Euro has been extended until 05. August 2012. So if you book this week you pay only 195 Euro. The admission includes the Delegate Welcome (planned for Sunday, 14. October 2012, 18:00, location tbd.), an extensive information package as well as all food and drink on the day of the meeting. 3. Seventh Annual SEADMA Conference in Jakarta, 20. November 2012

The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA is inviting for its traditional annual conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 20. November 2012, from 09:00 until 17:00. The 7th Annual SEADMA Conference and Industry Showcase takes place at Pullman Hotel Jakarta Central Park. The Call for Paper expired today, we will announce the programme in our next newsletter. Speeches by industry experts circling around all aspects of drymix mortar formulation, production and application have been proposed. Those delegates already present on Monday, 19. November you can join us for a delegate welcome drink and snacks, which will be served at 21:00 at beautiful and cosy La Bière, located in Jakarta Central parks splendid outdoor area (location tbd.).

The SEADMA Technical Bulletin 07 will be published on occasion of this traditional industry event, technical articles as well as advertorials or advertisements can be submitted by 15. August to drymix. info for inclusion (publishing fees apply).

4. Construction Technologies Australia Joins drymix.info as Manufacturing Partner

Construction Technologies Australia (CTAustralia) located in Crestmead, Queensland, Australia has decided to join drymix.info as a manufacturing partner. CTAustralia is a manufacturer of cementitious tile adhesives, grouts, waterproofing membranes, acoustic renders and sealants. CTAustralias recent research efforts have been focused on specialty adhesives such as “Non Slip/Non Slump” formulations to support larger format tiles. CTAustralia operates manufacturing sites in Queensland and New South Wales and has offices all over Australia and New Zealand.

5. Bostik Acquires Usina Fortaleza in Brasil

Bostik S.A. from Paris-La Défense, France, has acquired the specialty drymix mortar manufacturer Usina Fortaleza of Sao Paulo, Brasil. Usina Fortaleza, founded in 1969, has 270 employees and their annual sales reached 50 mio Euro in 2011. The company operates three factories and nine distribution centers, and is planning to build a new plant outside the Sao Paulo region. According to Bostik the company’s existing investment program will be continued and key management will not be replaced.

6. Quick-Mix Joins drymix.info as Manufacturing Partner

Quick-mix GmbH & Co. KG of Osnabrück, Germany has joined drymix.info as a manufacturing partner. Quick-mix is a manufacturer of a full portfolio of drymix mortars, such as renders and External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS). The company was founded in 1967 and in the meantime has production sites in Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Czechoslovakia, China and recently Russia (we reported earlier). The company is part of the Sievert Group located in Osnabrück, Germany, which operates as the holding for affiliates in four different sectors of the construction industry: drymix mortar, construction chemicals, logistics and construction elements. The companies of Sievert Group have 50 locations worldwide, their total turnover in 2011 was about 282 million Euro. Sievert Group has 1200 employees.

7. Rockwool Announces Construction of New Plant in Memphis, TN, USA

Rockwool International A/S, headquartered in Hedehusene, Denmark, has announced to build their first plant in the US close to Memphis/Tennessee. The plant and site improvements will cost around 125 mio Euro, completion is planned for 2014. The annual capacity of the new unit will be at more than 100.000 tons of mineral wool. The new plant relieves capacities in Canada, which are currently supplying the US market. According to the company in 2011 the North American market had a share of 8% of the overall Rockwool turnover. CEO Eelco van Heel is expecting an increased growth of the US market in the next years.
