2. Construction of Private Homes in Germany is Growing

According to a study conducted by LBS Research, a unit of Sparkasse Group, Frankfurt Germany, a considerable growth can be detected in the market for building private homes and flats in Germany. The amount of Building Permits issued in 2011 has risen by 22% when compared with 2010. Germany is the largest market for homes in the European Community, since the building intensity in Spain petered out during the financial crisis. But still, Germany lay only in the midfield, when considering amount of units of housing built per capita: in 2011, 2,3 homes were built per 1.000 citizens, the building intensity lay 45% to 90% higher in Poland (4,5) and Austria (4,8), Switzerland (6,1) and Finland (5,9) built more than double the homes than Germany.

According to market the research experts of Ifo Institute, Munich, Germany, this fact indicates, that for new construction of individual homes in Europe, a factor of 3 to 5 units per 1.000 citizens can be considered as normal, this would mean that there is an extremely high potential in Germany still to realize. Experts predict a continuous growth in Germany amounting to 15% in 2013 and 2014. Portugal, Spain, Hungary and Ireland, that have dropped to the end of the scale with 1,5, respectively 1,6 new units per 1.000 inhabitants. These nations and Greece are predicted not to reach the factor of 2,0 until 2015.

4. Accor Plans to Invest over 880 mio Euro in India

The international hotel group Accor, Paris, France announced to set up over 90 hotels in India over the next three years, an investment estimated to be Rs. 5750cr. (880 mio euro). The target of the group is to have 20.000 rooms for tourists and business travellers by 2015. Currently the group operates 23 hotels in India. Already strongly present in Bangalore, Accor is focussing now on Delhi, Mumbai and other major metropolitan regions. According to Denis Hennequin, Accor CEO, construction time and costs are 2 to 2.5 times higher in Indai than in most parts of the world because of infrastructure and building technology bottlenecks. In the field of commercial real estate, the building of hotels usually yields the highest potentials for drymix mortar manufacturers. This can be attributed to the fact, that international standards and qualities are expected by the developers, and that construction time needs to be optimized. Also, high class and more durable finishing materials are being used, so specialty mortars, adhesives and coatings are in need. Here is a chance for the Indian Alliance of Drymix Mortar Manufacturers indeed!
