1. Post Event Report: PPM/SEADMA Invited to Joint Seminar with Wacker, IEFI and SIRIM on 01OCT24 in KL

Upon an initiative brought forward by SEADMA’s Malaysia Chapter PPM (Pertubuhan Pengilang Mortar Pra-Bancuh Malaysia, The Malaysia Drymix Mortar Manufacturer’s Association) the Malaysia Drymix Mortar Manufacturers met at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, on 1. October 2024. The seminar was co-organized by Wacker Chemie SEA, Singapore and IEFI (M) Sdn Bhd, Petaling Jaya, as well as SIRIM Berhad (Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia), Shah Alam, Selangor. Over 30 experts from 27 drymix mortar manufacturers attended (members of PPM and non-members). Main topics in the lectures were the certification and testing of drymix mortars (SIRIM) and the application of cementitious tile adhesives CTA (Wacker). The sessions were opened by Terence Yong, President of PPM and Member of the Executive Committee of SEADMA - he introduced lectures by Ts. Mohd Faizal Mohd Alwi and Ts. Syed Faddly Syed Bahrudin (SIRIM) and Jayne Ramos, Klaus Bonin and Darryl Lim (Wacker).

2. 17th Annual SEADMA Conference HCMC, Vietnam 14NOV24: already over 70 Registrations!

Next month, the 17th Annual SEADMA Conference will open its doors on 14. November 2024 at New World Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Over 70 delegates have already registered to attend the only conference and Industry Showcase for the drymix mortar industry in South East Asia and beyond. Larger delegations of drymix mortar manufacturers are expected from Thailand (8), Malaysia (9, including SIRIM!), Indonesia (4), The Philippines and Singapore - we will have a truly international crowd! This is why SEADMA will organize a welcome dinner on Wednesday, 13. November 2024, 19:00 near conference vernue (R.S.V.P. please; details to all registered delegates by e-mail, everybody pays her/his own bill, unless we find a dinner sponsor).

3. Drymix Mortars in the Middle East at Abu Dhabi University, 19NOV24: Post Event Dinner Sponsored by Wacker

Registrations are picking up speed for Drymix Mortars in the Middle East - The 17th Annual MEDMA Conference on 19. November 2024, hosted and organized in cooperation with the building materials experts from the College of Engineering at Abu Dhabi University. We have already over 60 registrations. Many important local and international players will be there to present and discuss the latest aspects of the drymix mortar technology evolution in the region. 4. Traditional drymix.info Evening during BAU 2025, Munich, Germany, 15. January 2025

In January BAU 2025 takes place at Messe München from 13 to 17JAN25. drymix.info again invites tired showgoers to join our traditional, extremely casual drymix.info evening to the famous Hofbräuhaus on Wednesday, 15. January 2025 at 19:00. This is not a real event but a lot of fun. RSVP mandatory, everybody pays on her/his own, unless we find a sponsor.

5. Update: East Asia Drymix Mortar Meeting, Seoul, South Korea, 25FEB25: Most Segments Booked

The East Asia Drymix Mortar Meeting in Seoul on 25. February 2025 is a new format offered by drymix.info to internationally active suppliers to the drymix mortar industry: many drymix.info partners have already secured their segment for exclusive sponsoring. The Philippine Drymix Mortar Manufacturers Association PhilDMMA, the local chapter of SEADMA, is inviting drymix mortar experts from the region to its 5th Philippine Drymix Mortar Meeting. The meeting takes place on 27. February 2025 in Makati City, the program, venue and supporters will be announced in our December Newsletter.

8. Aung Pyitan (Myanmar) Joins SEADMA as a Member

Aung Pyitan Co. Ltd. of Yangon, Myanmar has decided to join the South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA as a member. Aung Pyitan, founded in 1992, was long known for its extensive portfolio of construction machinery and heavy equipment, including mortar mixers and pumps. Recently, the company has developed its own range of drymix mortars including high compressive strength repair mortars, specialty grouts, 2 K waterproofing membranes, water plug systems and adhesive systems for engineered construction.

9. BASF Considers Sale of Architectural Coatings Business in Brasil

BASF SE of Ludwigshafen, Germany, is considering the sale of its architectural coatings activities in Brasil. Dr. Markus Kamieth, CEO of BASF, announced at “BASF Capital Markets Day” in Ludwigshafen his strategy of enabling the customers to “transform into sustainable businesses“ while using BASF products, consulting and services. Within this strategy a segmentation into “core business” and “standalone business” is planned. In BASF's Coatings Division a divestment of BASF's construction paints activities in Brasil is under scrutiny.

10. Henan Botai Joins drymix.info as Industrial Partner

Henan Botai Chemical Building Materials Co. of Zhengzhou, Henan, China, has decided to join drymix.info as Industrial Partner. Established in 2003, Henan Botai is specialized in the development, production and sale of redispersible powders, calcium formate, hydrophobic additives, cellulose ethers (HPMC, HEMC, HEC) and superplasticizers (SMF, and PCE-based). Industries serviced include drymix mortar, coatings, oil drilling, feed and detergents.

11. Brenntag Holding joins drymix.info as Distributor Partner

Brenntag Holding GmbH of Essen, Germany, has decided to join drymix.info as a Distributor Partner. 12. Çimsa Signs Agreement to Acquire Mannok (Northern Ireland)

Çimsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding of Istanbul, Turkey, has signed an agreement to acquire 94.7% of building materials producer Mannok Holdings DAC of Derrylin, Northern Ireland. Mannok offers a wide range of products, including cement, cement-based products (such as roofing tiles, precast, and concrete), insulation materials, and sustainable plastic packaging, employing over 800 people.

13. MegaChem (M) Joins drymix.info as Distributor Partner

MegaChem Limited (C.N. Chemicals SDN BHD) of Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, has decided to join drymix.info as a Distributor Partner. MegaChem, founded 1988 in Singapore is present in 12 countries (Singapore, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, India, UAE, UK, Australia, and Myanmar), serving segments such as the construction, adhesive, paints and textile industries.
