1. Post Event Report: 6th Australian Drymix Mortar Meeting in Sydney, 20FEB24

Last week, the drymix mortar industry met in Sydney, Australia, and the success of the conference exceeded our wildest expectations: More than 120 delegates joined the program at the splendid Darling Harbour Maritime Museum to share the latest industry news and gain new insights. The night before, RLA Polymers invited to a Delegate Welcome at “The View by Sydney” with both great networking and unforgettable views of Sydney Harbour Bridge. The event was supported by Actemium, Almatis, Ardex, Bischof + Klein, Calucem, Construction Chemicals (Dribond), Crosbe, Haver & Boecker, Imerys, Maleki IFS, Poraver, RLA Polymers, Rockcote, Timab Magnesium and Wacker Chemie. 2. WED, 24 and THU 25APR24, Manchester: Registrations Running Strong

The 1st Drymix Mortar Meeting in the UK takes place at Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Manchester on 25. April 2024. But not only that – on the day before, the Blackburn Golf Competition is open to all registered delegates – Blackburn is also sponsoring our Delegate Welcome on WED 24APR25 at the clubhouse, thanks a lot, Jack! RSVP is mandatory for both events, we will be in touch.

As of today, we are proud to say that already over 50 drymix mortar experts have registered for out 1st UK & Ireland Drymix Mortar Meeting! 

Admission is £ 480 | 550 €, reduced to £ 395 | 450 € for drymix.info members or partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only £ 170 | 190 €. Our 5th Central American Drymix Mortar Meeting takes place in Monterrey, N.L., México on Tuesday, 25. June 2024. We already have registrations Delegates from throughout the region and the South-Western US for this important event. The Call for Papers ended yesterday and we will publish our list of topics in the next drymix.info Newsletter. The 8th Central European Drymix Mortar Meeting takes place at magnificient Çırağan Palace, İstanbul, Turkey, on Thursday, 19. September 2024. Directly after our conference we board ship for a wonderful cruise on the Bosphorus via the palace's own jetty. Sponsors here so far are Calucem and Kalekim (looking for more ;-). 4. Biesterfeld Spezialchemie Expands Partnership with Evonik in Eastern Europe (sponsored content)

5. Elementis Joins drymix.info as Industrial Partner

Elementis of East Windsor, NJ, USA (Headquarter in London, UK) has joined drymix.info as Industrial Partner. The company started with chemical ingredients for consumer and industrial products  almost 200 years ago. Elementis is focussed on rheology and natural bio-functional ingredients and operates a large mine of hectorite natural clay. Elementis' products go into industrial and architectural coatings, adhesives and sealants and  plastics.

6. Acquisitions in Australia's Distribution Market: Brenntag and IMCD Expand

IMCD Australia of Mulgrave, VIC, has signed an agreement to acquire ResChem Technologies of Sydney, NSW. Reschem is distributor specialized in resins, additives and pigments for use in inks, coatings, adhesives and construction applications with 15 employees and a turnover of 15 mio Euro in 2023. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024.

Brenntag Australia of Mulgrave, VIC, has announced the acquisition of the life science and coatings business from Ravenswood Australia, Bayswater, VIC. The business generated sales of approximately 40 mio Euro in the financial year 2022. Closing of the transaction is expected in December 2024. Ravenswood will trade under the new company name Ravenswood Ingredients Pty Ltd.

7. Concetti Joins drymix.info as Industrial Partner

Concetti S.P.A. of Bastia Umbra, Italy, has decided to join drymix.info as Industrial Partner. Concetti has been producing customized automatic packaging solutions for weighing, bagging and palletizing loose, solid products since 1975. In addition to a production plant in Italy, Concetti has subsidiaries in the US and Brasil as well as over 50 agencies worldwide with assistance centers and service engineers.

8. SigmaRoc Acquires CRH's European Lime Operations

CRH plc, Dublin, Ireland has recently sold its lime businesses in Europe to SigmaRoc plc, London, UK. The Business comprises 16 operating locations with strong market positions across Ireland, the UK, Germany (Fels Werke), Czech Republic and Poland and is expected to be completed within 2024. With this acquisition, SigmaRoc (which had acquired Nordkalk with operations in Finland and Sweden earlier) becomes one of the largest players in limestone and lime in Northern Europe. The transaction value was 1.026 mio Euro, the deal is still subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

9. Mapei Takes Over Saudi Company Bitumat

Mapei of Milan, Italy, has acquired the manufacturer of waterproofing systems Bitumat of Damman, Saudia Arabia. Bitumat's main factory covers over 100.000 sqm in Damman and an additional manufacturing plant operates in Bahrain. Bitumat also runs offices and warehouses in Saudia Arabia, UAE and Oman. This acquisition is part of Mapei's investment in the Middle East, which is one of their biggest growth areas with revenue increasing by 37,6% in 2022.
