1. THU, 23NOV2023, Bogor: 16SEADMA with Eco Award and PROMINDO AGM

Come see us in Bogor next week: Drymix Mortar experts from Indonesia and the ASEAN Nations and beyond meet at Novotel on 23. November 2023 for the 16th Annual SEADMA Conference. In addition to our comprehensive program of technical lectures, in a short ceremony before lunch, the South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association will present its SEADMA Eco Award 2023 to Dr. Umi Waheeda, Principal and Founder of the Yayasan Al Ashriyyah Nurul Iman Islamic Boarding School and its many ecological initiatives surrounding the project. The boarding school sees to the professional education of girls and the freeing up of their creativity and economic force to benefit the Indonesian society. The award is accompanied by a donation amounting to SGD 1.000, which is raised by the proceeds of the conference. During the tea break, PROMINDO will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM, one delegate per member company only, please).

Admission to the 16th Annual SEADMA Conference is 450 €, reduced to 350 € for drymix.info members or partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only 190 € *. For registration, visit our website.

2. Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2024: Call for Scientific Articles Extended

The Drymix Mortar Yearbook (DMYB) has been a constant source for information and discussion for our industry since 2007. It is the only printed publication with a complete focus on drymix mortar topic worldwide. drymix.info is encouraging industry and academia to submit scientific articles for DMYB 2024. Our Call for Scientific Articles has been extended until 31. December 2023. Apart from being sent to subscribers and universities worldwide, our DMYB24 is being presented to the delegates of drymix.info vents in Sydney, Manchester, Monterrey, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur and Abu Dhabi (and of course will be available in our webshop). Publication fees apply, please enquire with us.

3. TUE, 20FEB2024: The 6th Australian Drymix Mortar Meeting: Program

The Drymix Mortar Community from Australia, New Zealand and beyond meets on Tuesday, 20. February 2024 at the National Maritime Museum (MuSEAum) in Sydney. 4. Western Material & Design Joins drymix.info as a Member

Western Material & Design LLC (WM) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA, has decided to join drymix.info as a member. Originally founded in 1988 under the name Western Bag Company, WM is a family-owned business specialized in product development and toll blending of cementitious and aggregate based products. WM's target applications include rapid setting concrete renovation systems, precision grouts, patching and repair mortars as well as other types of drymix mortars.

5. H.B. Fuller Joins Forces with XChem in UAE

H.B. Fuller Company, Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, USA, has recently acquired all assets of Xchem LLC, Ras-al-Khaimah, UAE. XChem, founded in 2010 is active in the adhesives, coatings and construction chemical industries, it has 90 employees and is actively selling in over 25 countries in the Middle East and Africa region. With this move, H.B. Fuller' construction adhesives division sets up shop in the Middle East and intends to continually build its presence on 15.000 sq.m. plot of land acquired with the assets of XChem. The production is located in RAKEZ (Ras-Al-Khaimah Economic Zone), which is near Al Hamra Fort in Southern Ras-al-Khaimah.

6. H+H Reduces Production of Aerated Lightweight Blocks in Germany

H+H Deutschland GmbH, Wittenborn, Germany, a subsidiary of H+H International, Copenhagen, Denmark, is planning to shut down one of its two aerated lightweight concrete blocks (ALC) plants in Wittenborn as well as the plant in Feuchtwangen due to the reduced forecast for demand of the German construction market. Improvements and investments already planned will be carried out in these two plants nonetheless. As soon as a higher demand is foreseeable, (in the medium term), both plants will resume their production. Until then, the remaining 4 German ALC plants of H+H will remain in operation.
