1. idmmc9, Nürnberg, Germany, 27. March 2023: already over 100 Registrations

The 9th International Drymix Mortar Conference and Industry Showcase idmmc9 takes place on Monday, 27. March 2023 at Kleine Meistersingerhalle in Nürnberg, Germany. Our Technical Chairman is again Prof. Dr. Johann Plank, Technische Universität München TUM, the preliminary program was published in our last drymix.info Newsletter. On Sunday, 26. March 2023, from 19:00, we will have our traditional casual Delegate Welcome at a NEW LOCATION: Fränkische Weinstube im Handwerkerhof, inside the historic fortifications of Königstor (opposite of Hauptbahnhof). RSVP only for delegates holding a ticket for idmmc9, please.

We are very happy to report, that already over 100 drymix mortar experts have registered for idmmc9 - you can expect a wonderful crowd in Nürnberg on 27MAR23! Admission to idmmc9 is 650 €, reduced to 490 € for MEDMA, drymix.info or SEADMA Partners. Drymix mortar producers pay only 350 €. All Admissions to idmmc9 include 19% German VAT. Our registration is open online on www.drymix.info (Visa or Master card required).

2. Casual drymix.info Evening during Bau 2023 in Munich on 19. April 2023

The casual (and traditional) drymix.info Evening during BAU takes place on Wednesday, 19. April 2023, 19:00 at Fraunhofer, Munich, Germany (Fraunhoferstr 9, Subway dito) Innere Wiener Straße 19, 81667 München. This no-tie event is an excellent chance to relax for tired showgoers on "BAU-Wednesday". After a hard day at the fair there is time to network, chat, have dinner with friends and just have a good time.

We are still looking for someone sponsoring our food and drink, if not, we pay individually. Admission is free of charge, of course, but seating is limited, so advance registration is mandatory, please e-mail us to info@drymix.info.

3. admmc7/ScalingUp3D, Richmond, VA, June 8+9, 2023: Program

The 7th American Drymix Mortar Conference idmmc9 takes place on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at The Byrd Theatre, Carytown, Richmond, Virginia, USA. The next day (Day 2, June 9, 2023) we plan a surprise program focussed on 3D Mortar Printing (to be published in our next Newsletter). 4. Mondi Joins drymix.info as an Industrial Partner

Mondi Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, has recently joined drymix.info as a member. Mondi's production location in Shah Alam was founded in 1965 and produces paper bags (valve bags) since then, it became part of Mondi Group in 2000. Mondi produces bags for Malaysia as well as the entire South East Asian region, primarily for the cement and construction materials industry, but is also serving the chemical industry.

We warmly welcome Mondi Kuala Lumpur to our community.

5. BASF Invests in Polymer Dispersions Capacity in Merak, Indonesia

BASF SE, Ludwigshafen, Germany has announced an expansion of its atmospheric dispersions plant in Merak, Western Java, Indonesia. The BASF site at Merak has its own jetty to ship acrylic and styrene-butadiene based dispersions to the markets in South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand from this production location. The expansion is due to be be completed in the second half of 2023, the investment value was not disclosed.

6. Austrotherm Expands its XPS-Unit in Purbach/Austria

Austrotherm GmbH of Wopfing, Austria has completed its expansion of its XPS insulation material line in Purbach, Austria. The upgrade (valued at bout 20 mio Euro) contained a new production hall with foam extrusion technology from KraussMaffei, Munich, Germany. In a next step, within 2023, Austrotherm will install a photovoltaic system on the roof of the halls. The Purbach plant mainly serves Austria and the surrounding European markets including southern Germany.

7. Heidelberg Materials Acquires SER Group (Germany)

Heidelberg Materials, Germany has recently acquired SER Group of Heilbronn, Germany. SER is focussed on the demolition and construction materials recycling business. SER Group employs over 200 people and achieved an annual revenue of 50 Mio Euro. Heidelberg Materials expects to strengthen its position in the reuse of building materials and concrete recycling with this acquisition. The investment follows a similar intention like the acquisitions of RWG (Germany) and Mick George (England) late last year (we reported earlier). The acquisition is still subject to approval of the antitrust authorities, a transaction value has not been disclosed by either party.
