1. Fotos from Istanbul: now online on drymix.info

As you gathered from our last drymix.info Newsletter, we had a wonderful time at and on the Bosphorus. So many of our guests asked about fotos, so we have put a choice of the ones we took online, see: https://www.drymix.info/index.php?id=1451&L=894. If any of the delegates have nice shots, they are encouraged to send them to us.

drymix.info has also decided to offer this service for our future post-covid events and will retroactively also feature our meeting in Mexico City last June soon (we will inform the participants).

2. ladmmc7 in São Paulo Postponed into Fall 2023

After an intensive discussion, we decided heavy-heartedly to postpone the The 7th Latin American Drymix Mortar Conference ladmmc7 (scheduled for this month in São Paulo) to October 2023. When talking to drymix mortar manufacturers and the industry in Brasil, we felt a certain reluctance to come to São Paulo yet again. Apparently many events that had been postponed due to the pandemic have been re-scheduled into this fall, also in the construction materials industry. A conference should be interesting, fun and also a place to meet the entire industry. We can not guarantee to fulfill these expectations in terms of participants numbers and composition, and thus decided to re-schedule ladmmc7 into Fall 2023.

As a token of our appreciation, all drymix mortar manufacturers in Brasil will get their copy of the Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2022 sent by mail in November 2022. Drymix mortar manufacturers that have already registered and paid will get a 50 Euro refund on their registration in 2023. Admissions already paid for will be fully refunded, sponsoring fees can be credited 100% or 90% can be refunded in accordance with our terms of service. We thank at this point in time Baumit, Black Buffalo 3D, Cimental, FLSmidth, Formitex, Haver&Boecker, Imerys, m-tec, Tianpu Chemicals, University of São Paulo USP, Vale and Wacker Chemie and hope for their (and others') continued support in 2023.

The drymix.info Brasil organization team, led by Mario Kristeller and Ferdinand Leopolder thanks the sponsors and lecturers for their understanding of this unusual measure and apologizes to all delegates for any inconveniences caused, and we are looking forward to meeting all of you next year in São Paolo again!

5. MEDMA to Conduct Survey on Drymix Mortar Production in the Middle East

The Executive Committee of The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA (a Dubai, UAE Association) has recently decided to conduct an anonymized survey on the production of drymix mortars in its region. The survey will investigate the actual production situation as well as the quality standards, regulatory and legal requirements (and/or hindrances) of the industry. MEDMA members, partners and choice drymix mortar producers will be approached and asked for their feedback in November 2022. The results are being summarized and presented at Drymix Mortars in the Middle East (MEDMA Annual Conference) in Dubai on 6. February 2023. In addition, Members of MEDMA will also obtain the detailed analysis in March 2023.

Agrana Stärke GmbH, Vienna, Austria, is investing into a capacity expansion at their Gmünd (Austria) production site.
