1. Post Event Report cedmmc7, Istanbul, 15. September 2022

We had a wonderful time in Istanbul last week, where the 7th Central and South European Drymix Mortar Conference took place in the magnificent Çırağan Sarayı (Palace). The attendance was the largest ever at cedmmc: 131 registered delegates from 65 companies, of which 55% were drymix mortar manufacturers. 15 lectures and presentations were given by Calucem, Caltra, Celanese Elotex, Dow, Haver&Boecker, Imerys, Kalekim, m-tec, Mapei, Material Innovative Gesellschaft (M.I.G.), Omya, Organik Kimya, Polyplast, Varlik Makina and Wacker Chemie, additional support came from Ente and Günkem. Delegates came from Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Mauritius, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, The UAE and of course from Turkey.

Right after cedmmc7, we boarded the Champs-Élysées, the fantastic ship, Calucem, Kalekim and Wacker Chemie had chartered for us (thanks a lot) and enjoyed our dinner cruise on the Bosphorus, seeing the sun set over the Golden Horn and the moon rising over the second bridge.

2. drymix.info Waives Lecturing Fee for Mortar Producers, Introduces Hybrid Format for Events

For the first tim eon over 10 years, drymix.info is changing its List of Services. However, while many companies (also in the drymix mortar industry) raise their prices, drymix.info is actually lowering them for drymix mortar manufacturers:
In order to encourage drymix mortar manufacturers to propose lectures (technical reports, case studies, product launches, market observations) we have decided to waive the lecturing fee for this group effective 1. January 2023. So, when submitting proposals for Dubai (6. February 2023), Nürnberg (27. March 2023) or Richmond (June 8, 2023), drymix mortar manufacturers only have to pay for all their delegates, no longer for a lecturing slot.

A second important decision has been made concerning lectures at our in-person events all around the globe: drymix.info will allow also pre-recorded lectures (so-called hybrid format), effective immediately. The pioneer here is Eng. Eduard Artner of Baumit, Austria, who will report in São Paulo - without actually being there - about 3D Printed Precast Elements for Slabs to Reduce Weight and CO2 Emissions.

3. Calls for Papers Expiring: Bangkok, 1. Dec 22 and Nürnberg, 27. Mar 23

drymix.info, the International Community for Drymix Mortars and The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA, Ltd. is reminding all its supporters to submit lecturing proposals for
a) The 14th Annual SEADMA Conference and Industry Showcase, Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday, 1. December 2022 (Call for Papers expires on 15. October 2022)
b) The 9th International Drymix Mortar Conference idmmc9, Nürnberg, Germany, on Monday, 27. March 2023 (Call for Papers expires on 1. October 2022)

Also, please be reminded to hand in your papers for publication in our Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2023, Deadline for materials (articles, advertisements, advertorials) is 1. December 2022.

4. In one Month: The 7th Latin American Drymix Mortar Conference ladmmc7 São Paulo, Brasil, 20. 10. 2022

The 7th Latin American Drymix Mortar Conference and Industry Showcase ladmmc7 takes place on the park-like premises of Espaço Escandinavo, São Paulo, Brasil on Thursday, 20. October 2022, 11:00. Our Technical Chairman is Mario Kristeller, as always, simultaneous translation Português - English is provided for all delegates. We published our preliminary program in the last newsletter, in the meantime, contributions from Vale and FLSmidth have been added to our program.

Registration is available online at drymix.info (Visa and Mastercard accepted). Admission to ladmmc7 is 390 Euro, reduced for drymix.info, SEADMA and MEDMA partners to 290 Euro. Drymix Mortar Manufacturers pay only 190 Euro.

5. Causal drymix.info Evening during BAUMA 2022 on 26. October 2022

Finally, the largest industrial fair in the world can open its gates again: BAUMA takes place at Messe München from 24. to 30. October. On Wednesday, on 26. 10. 22, 19:30,  drymix.info and its partners are inviting to their traditional get-together at Wirtshaus im Fraunhofer (some of you know it already from the Delegate Welcome for idmmc8 in September of last year). At this point in time, we have no sponsor yet, but the place is affordable, we can also pay for ourselves (Sponsors are welcome, please enquire with us).

6. NEW DATE: Drymix Mortars in the Middle East 2023: 6. February 2022

The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA (a Dubai Association) invites to its first annual conference since almost 3 years: Drymix Mortars in the Middle East 2023 takes place in Dubai. we had to move the date for this event again (we apologize for the inconvenience), it now takes place on place on 6. February 2023 (location tbd.). The Call for Papers expires on 1. November 2022 (available through drymix.info).

7. DAW Opens New Logistics Center in Ober-Ramstadt

Deutsche Amphibolinwerke von Robert Murjahn (DAW SE), Ober-Ramstadt, Germany has invested heavily into its logistics there: DAW has recently opened its new automated storage facility including a shipping center. The new unit combines several former storage locations in the area and thus optimizes the supply chain out of Ober-Ramstadt. It contains an automated storage for 30.000 pallets and a stocking facility for up to 12.000 odd-sized boxes containing up to 4.500 different articles in small packages. Many commissioning zones complete the logistics center. The facility has 4 loading docks and will be run in three shift mode.
