2. The Fourth MEDMA Workshop on Jobsite Automation, 24.11.19, Sharjah, UAE

The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA e.V. invites to its Fourth MEDMA Workshop on Jobsite Automation, Industrial Mortar Mixing and Pumping. The workshop takes place on and during The International Concrete Conference & Exhibition, ICCX Middle East 2019 and is being supported by the organizers of ICCX. All delegates obtain a free pass to ICCX exhibition on 24.11.19. Confirmed support comes from Arkan Drymix, CCC Drymix, Conmix, Haver&Boecker Middle East, JK Cement, m-tec and Wacker Chemie. Prof. Dr. Mufid Samarai of Sharjah Research Academy will greet the assembly with a short speech, Ferdinand Leopolder, President of MEDMA will moderate the workshop.

The workshop is free of charge, however advance registration is mandatory. Please send us an e-mail to info@drymix.info. In the evening, MEDMA will hold its Annual General Member's Assembly, a separate invitation will go out to the members in fall of 2019 (for members only).

3. The 14th Annual SEADMA Conference, 28.11.19 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: Registration open

The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA, Ltd. invites to its 14th Annual conference in Ho Chi Minh City on 28. November 2019. The registration has recently been opened at www.drymix.info for delegates from all Nations of ASEAN. It is the single most important networking opportunity for our industry in the area. As a tradition during its annual conference SEADMA will inform its members and all delegates about the ASEAN region with interesting detail and a capacity study prepared by its Executive Committee. 4. Russian Mortar Days 2020, 30.1.20, Moscow: Call for Paper Expires!

The Russian Mortar Days 2020 take place on 30. January 2020, hosted again by Moscow State, Technical University MCU (also called MGSU). Our Technical Chairman is Prof. Dr. Andrej Pustovgar of MCU, the event is co-organized by Quintet, Saint Petersburg, Russia. The conference will feature lectures on recent findings in drymix mortar technology as well as lab procedures and market reports. In the foyer we will have our Drymix Mortar Industry Showcase. MCU, Quintet and drymix.info have published a Call for Papers this September which expires by the end of this month. So it is high time now to submit your lecturing proposal and pledge your support for this important event.

5. Seventh American Drymix Mortar Conference, May 7, 2020: Call for Paper Expires soon

The Seventh American Drymix Mortar Conference admmc7 will take place on  May 7, 2020 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (the exact location remains to be determined and will be published here). The Technical Chairman is Prof. Dr. Johann Plank of technische Universität München (TUM), Germany. We are looking for technical papers on drymix mortar applications and production, explicitly included are topics on the formulation and application of 3D printable drymix mortars. drymix.info has recently published a Call for Papers for this event, which expires on 15. November 2019. Attention potential lecturers: please also think about publishing your work in our upcoming Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2020, which will be published in Canada for the first time (submission deadline for DMYB 2020 is 31. December 2019).

7. Almatis Joins drymix.info as Industrial Partner

Almatis GmbH, Frankfurt, Germany has recently decided to become an Industrial Partner of drymix.info, The International Community for Drymix Mortars. Almatis, founded in 1910 in East St. Louis, Illinois, USA, develops and manufactures specialty alumina cement and alumina-based products. Almatis produces in the US, The Netherlands, Japan, Germany, China and India. Specialty of Almatis is highly white calcium aluminate cement for construction and refractory applications. Since 2015, Almatis belongs to the Oyak Group, Ankara, Turkey.

8. Semen Indonesia Breaks Ground for its Drymix Mortar Plant in Narogong, Java

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Gresik, Indonesia (through its subsidiary PT Mitra Kiara Indonesia, MKI) has recently celebrated ground breaking for a large-size drymix mortar plant at its existing 2-hectare site at Narogong, Gunung Putri, West Java. The new, fully automated plant will have a nameplate capacity of 375.000 tons per year and also features a crushing plant of limestone to reduce the use of natural sand. AML Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Schkopau, Germany, is the technology-partner of Semen Indonesia for this unique, integrated plant project. Construction of this forward integration investment is expected to be completed in 2020. "This effort is made to expand the diversification of types of products offered by the company to customers," said Sigit Wahono, Head of Communication at Semen Indonesia. The company already produces mortar at PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia, namely masonry mortars, skim coats and renders.

9. Vink Chemicals Acquires ISP Biochema Schwaben

Vink Chemicals GmbH & Co. KG, Kakenstorf, has recently acquired all assets of ISP Biochema Schwaben GmbH, Memmingen (both Germany). ISP Biochema was a part of ISP Marl GmbH, in turn part of Ashland Global Holdings, Inc., Covington, KY, USA. Vink Chemicals, since its inception 30 years ago is highly focussed on the production of biocides for the coatings, lacquers, detergent, paper, textile, adhesive and construction chemicals industries. Vink Chemicals is also active as a distributor of specialty chemicals. By integrating ISP Biochema, Vink gains access to production capacities, laboratories and a product development center. A transaction value was not disclosed.
