1. 30 Consultants Attending the 3rd MEDMA Workshop, Topic: EIFS at Dubai Central Labs, 4.3.19

Members and friends of the Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA e.V. have succeeded in confirming the attendance of over 30 contractors and consultants to the third MEDMA Workshop. Dubai Municipality/Dubai Central Laboratories (DCL), Al Karama, Dubai UAE (our host is Eng. Fahad Saleh Amer Al Mahri) and MEDMA have invited construction experts to discuss External Insulation and Finishing Systems (EIFS). The workshop takes place on Monday, 4. March 2019 from 9:30 to 14:00 at Al Karama Campus of Dubai Central Labs (Fazza' Hall).

If you still wish to join, you must know that pre-registration is absolutely mandatory please contact drymix.info immediately. Admission is free of charge for MEDMA members and mortar manufacturers (only one delegate per company). Additional special admission for mortar manufacturers is 190 Euro. Industry observers (raw material and/or equipment suppliers) are admitted too, they pay 390 Euro, reduced for members of drymix.info or MEDMA e.V. to 290 Euro.

2. Thai Drymix Mortar Subgroup (SEADMA Chapter) Presents itself at ACC14, Hua Hin, 6.- 8. March 2019

On an annual basis, the Thai Concrete Association TCA, Bangkok organizes the Annual Concrete Conferences, this year, the 14th Annual Concrete Conference ACC14 takes place from 6. to 8. March 2019 at Wora Wana Hua Hin Hotel & Convention Center. This year, the event will also feature a session of lectures on drymix mortars organized by the Thai Drymix Mortar Subgroup (the Thai Chapter of The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA). The ACC14 Drymix Mortar Session on 7. March features lectures by Siam Cement Group, Siam City Cement, Jorakay (Crocodile Brand), Yuba and does also have support from drymix.info members Testing Bluhm & Feuerherdt and Wacker Chemie. There is of course a large volume of concrete and cement related topics and on 8. March a very interesting environmental materials session (featuring hemp shivs, natural fibers, recycled aggregates, EIFS and geopolymer binders). If you are interested in attending, drymix.info can assist with your application (website is only in Thai language).

3. idmmc7, Nürnberg, Germany on 18. March 2019: Special Announcement

The Seventh International Drymix Mortar Conference and Industry Showcase idmmc7 takes place in Nürnberg, Germany, on 18. March 2019 (also featuring a casual welcome on 17.3.2019, see below). Unfortunately, one member of our Technical Committee, Dr. Scott Jones, National Institue of Science and Technology NIST, Washington, D.C., USA can not come in person. BUT: we will hopefully be able to broadcast and screen his lecture to our delegates at idmmc7: he will speak about “Towards the Formulation of Robust and Sustainable Cementitious Binders for 3-D Additive Construction by Extrusion“, a work prepared in cooperation with Dr. Dale Bentz and also published in our Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2019.

There is a casual Delegate Welcome at Barfüsser im Mautkeller the day before (Sunday, 17.3.19, 19:00) to which all delegates are invited (pre-registration mandatory, sorry, only delegates registered for idmmc7 can be admitted), this event is being sponsored by Wacker Chemie, IMCD and Calucem, thanks a lot!

Admission to idmmc7 is 550 Euro, reduced to 420 Euro for drymix.info, SEADMA and MEDMA members. There is a special admission for drymix mortar manufacturers which is only 280 Euro (no further deductions applicable to this special offer). Registration with credit card payment (Visa or Mastercard only) is open on www.drymix.info. Please note that these prices include 19% German VAT, the tax can not be waived for out-of-EEC delegates, sorry.

4. Casual drymix.info Evening on BAUMA, 11. April 2019: Haver&Boecker Invites to Party

It has become a nice tradition, that drymix.info arranges a casual evening for tired international guests and showgoers during BAUMA. This time (like in 2016), Haver&Boecker invites us to their booth at BAUMA in Hall B, Stand B2.149 on THURSDAY 11. April 2019, 18:00. The band playing is HotSaxClub.

The event is free of charge, but advance registration is mandatory, you can register easily by sending us an e-mail to info@drymix.info. In the name of its members, drymix.info thanks Haver&Boecker warmly for this great party. Haver&Boecker is even providing one day fair passes for 11.4.19 for those who need one, please enquire with us.

5. 6th India Drymix Mortar Conference, Mumbai, 9.5.19: Registration has Started, Program is Online

The first delegate s have already registered for the 6th India Drymix Mortar Conference and Industry Showcase taking place on Thursday, 9. May 2019 in Mumbai at the splendid ITC Maratha Hotel (near Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport). The Construction Chemical Manufacturer's Association of India (CCMAI) and its members have agreed again to be the co-host of this event. Our Technical Chairman is Dr. Sumon Chakravarty, the Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2019 will be distributed to each registered delegate of this event. We have recently uploaded the program to our website, please see there. The event is being supported by Fairmate, Haver&Boecker, Imerys, LB Technology, m-tec, Mapei, Meher Velsycon, MYK Laticrete, Ready Mix Construction Machinery, Rhewum, SEB Products (India) and Testing Bluhm & Feuerherdt. Sponsors are still welcome, of course!

Admission to the 6th Indian Drymix Mortar Conference is 390 € per person, reduced to 290 € for drymix.info, MEDMA and/or SEADMA partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only 150 € per person. There is a special rebate for drymix mortar makers coming from abroad (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangla Desh, as well as from SEA or the Middle East): it is only 100 € per person. Special admission for CCMAI members (proof of membership required): 125 €.

6. ScalingUp 3D Vienna, Austria, 27. and 28.6.19: Field Trip to Wopfing and Accepted Lectures

Our 3D mortar printing event is taking shape and we are proud to announce a wonderful program. ScalingUp 3D, the Interdisciplinary Symposium on Printable Mortars, will take place in Vienna, Austria on Thursday 27. and Friday, 28.6.19 (the exact location will be announced later). The Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2019 will de distributed on occasion of this event. With our delegates we plan a field trip to Wopfing (to the South-West of Vienna), where we visit Baumit's pilot plant (Technikum) for their 3D mortar printing system. In addition, we will have two practical demonstrations of machine automation (m-tec) and curing monitoring (Ultratest). The symposium will feature 12 scientific lectures circling around serial production of building (elements) using several types of drymix mortars. Admission to ScalingUp 3D is 950 Euro, reduced to 750 Euro for drymix.info, SEADMA and MEDMA members. There is a special admission for drymix mortar manufacturers which is only 550 Euro (no further deductions applicable to this offer). Due to the fact that many research insitutions have proposed papers, we decided to offer a special admission for students and faculty, which is only 390 Euro. Registration with credit card payment (Visa or Mastercard only) opens on www.drymix.info next week. The booking of individual days is not possible. Please note that these prices include 20% Austrian VAT. This tax is applicable for all delegates an can not be waived.

7. SEADMA Regions Week with Meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Hanoi, Vietnam in July 2019

The Malaysia Drymix Mortar Manufacturer's Association PPM, a chapter of the South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA, will invite to its Inaugurative Meeting (first time as legal entity) in July 2019. Also, SEADMA plans to stage a regional meeting for Northern Vietnam in Hanoi that week, details wil be published in our next Newsletter.

8. Sexta Conferência Latino Americana de Argamassas ladmmc six, São Paulo, Brasil, 7.11. 2019

The Sixth Latin American Drymix Mortar Conference ladmmc six takes place on Thursday, 7. November 2019, at Clube Transatlântico, São Paulo, Brasil, 7.11. 2019. Our Call for Papers is running until 31. May 2019. drymix.info will make a donation from the proceeds of ladmmc six to the social entrepreneurship initiative Cidades sem fome, which promotes urban harvesting for impoverished city dwellers. The founder of this NGO, Hans Dieter Tremp, will address the assembly with a short speech. We would like to encourage our industrial supporters to propose papers for lecturing as early as possible as there are quite many submissions already.

9. 14th Annual SEADMA Conference, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 28.11.2019

The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA invites to its 14th Annual Conference which will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Thursday, 28. November 2019. Our desired location there is the famous Rex Hotel. A Call for Papers has been recently issued by SEADMA, it runs until 31. May 2019.

Our standard pricing applies for the 14th Annual SEADMA Conference, too: admission is 390 Euro, reduced to 290 Euro for members of drymix.info, drymix mortar producers pay only 190 Euro.

10. Outlook and Announcements for 2020

Russian Mortar Days 2020, Moscow, 28. and 29.1.2020 (tentative date)
The Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Baltimix and drymix.info are inviting construction experts from Europe, Russia and Central Asia to join The Russian Mortar Days 2020 (5th Russian Mortar Days). There is no Call for Papers yet but potential contributors and/or sponsors are encouraged to send proposals to drymix.info already. We are again planning an excursion and will inform you accordingly once everything is fixed.
