1. Casual drymix.info Evening during Bau 2019 in Munich on 16. January 2019

The casual (and traditional) drymix.info Evening during BAU takes place on Wednesday, 16. January 2019, 19:00 at Hofbräukeller, Munich, Germany, Innere Wiener Straße 19, 81667 München (see www.hofbraeukeller.de; the next subway station is Max Weber Platz on either U4 or U5). This no-tie event is an excellent chance to relax for tired showgoers on "BAU-Wednesday". After a hard day at the fair there is time to network, chat, have dinner with friends and just have a good time. We already have many international guests registered.

Food and drink is sponsored by Calucem, drymix.info and Wacker Chemie (thanks a lot!). Admission is free of charge, of course, but seating is limited, so advance registration is absolutely mandatory, please e-mail us to info@drymix.info.

2. Third MEDMA Workshop on 24. February 2019, Topic: EIFS

After the success of our 2nd Workshop on Renders and Plasters at Sharjah Research Academy, we had many companies already committing to support our next one on External Insulation and Finishing Systems (EIFS). The MEDMA workshops are designed for contractors, consultants and developers, they are being supported by MEDMA members and other drymix mortar producers in the UAE. The third MEDMA Workshop on EIFS will take place on Sunday, 24. February 2019 from 10:00 to 13:00 in the UAE (the exact location still remains to be determined). At this point in time, Conmix, Dow, Terraco, Sodamco, Vitrulan and Wacker Chemie have already confirmed their support. The program will be published in our next Newsletter and as separate mailing to our special MEDMA distribution list. There are several options for industry sponsoring, please enquire with us.

Admission is free of charge for MEDMA members (and mortar manufacturers) and their guests, but pre-registration is absolutely mandatory, please contact drymix.info immediately. Free admission is limited to 2 delegates per company, additional special admission for mortar manufacturers is 150 Euro. Industry observers (raw material and/or equipment suppliers) are admitted too, they pay 390 Euro, reduced for members of drymix.info or MEDMA e.V. to 290 Euro.

5. Announcing: The 6th India Drymix Mortar Conference, Mumbai, 9. May 2019

drymix.info is proudly announcing The 6th India Drymix Mortar Conference and Industry Showcase. The full-day technical event will take place on Thursday, 9. May 2019 in Mumbai (location yet to be determined, but we will stick to the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport area as usual). The 6th India Drymix Mortar Conference will unite construction materials experts from the Indian Subcontinent, the Middle East and South East Asia as well as from Europe for a practical and scientific exchange of ideas and concepts. The Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2019 will be published on the occasion of this event. Our Call for Papers is available from drymix.info, it expires on 31. January 2019. Please sumbit your lecturing proposals soon.

Without sponsoring (our comprehensive Industry Showcase) an event of such magnitude would never be possible at reasonable admission rates for our target groups. So please contact us if you feel (just like us), that India and its neighboring Nations is a dynamic and innovative business environment for an integrated, state-of-the-art and highly efficient  technology approach such as drymix mortar. Upon request, we will forward you our List of Services.

Admission to the 6th Indian Drymix Mortar Conference is 390 € per person, reduced to 290 € for drymix.info, MEDMA and/or SEADMA partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only 150 € per person. There is a special rebate for drymix mortar makers coming from abroad (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangla Desh, as well as from SEA or the Middle East): it is only 100 € per person.

6. Malaysia Drymix Mortar Association PPM: Formation Completed

Shortly after chirstmas 2018, the Malaysia Chapter of The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA has obtained the formation certificates from the Malaysia Registry of Societies (MROS) in its new name: Drymix Mortar Producers Professional Association PPM (in Malaysian: Pertubuhan Pengilang Mortar PPM). Now the chapter is fully operational and the current members AffordableAbodes, Durabuilt, Ezi Mortartech, Greencast Technologies, Lafarge Drymix, Parex Malaysia, Pye Products and S3 Technologies encourage other mortar producers in Malaysia to join. Our acting President is Kenny Wong (S3, JB), Treasurer is Terence Yong (PYE Products).

During its meeting on 13.12.18 in Petaling Jaya, PPM decided to work on the following issues:
a) Volume Mortars: address the problem of inferior jobsite mixes with primitive machinery by contacting government bodies and industry peers.
b) Taxation of Mortars: currently the situation is unclear if Sales Service Tax (“SST”; 10%) is being imposed on drymix mortars by the new administration. PPM will fight this because it would make modern drymix mortars more expensive than low quality site mix (renders).
c) Standardisation of Technical Mortars: PPM will contact SIRIM in order to introduce technical specifications for mortars for concrete repair and renovation.
d) Construction Damage Cost and Repair: PPM currently collects case studies in order to address those losses in a broader public
e) Quantitative Survey on Mortar Production: will be conducted within 2019
f) Event in July 2019: planning has started for a Malaysia Drymix Mortar Meeting
