1. The First Saudi Workshop on EIFS, 30.5.16, Riyadh: opened by H.E. Dr. Saad Qasabi of SASO

The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA is organizing The First Saudi Workshop on EIFS at Al Waseel Hills Villa Project (by Sabic) on Monday, 30. May 2016, from 08:00 until 12:00. The Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization SASO is co-hosting this important event. Also AHK, The German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) is endorsing and attending. DMC-Mix, Tecon and Wacker are the main sponsors.

Attendance is strong, this event is an exclusive, by-invitation-only workshop. Confirmed delegates only, no walk-ins can be accepted due to on-site safety regulations.

However, industrial observers are permitted (but only is pre-registered and pre-paid). Admission for MEDMA members is 400 Euro, for non-members 600 Euro. Registration deadline is Sunday, 29. May 2016.

2. SEADMA Professional Skills Training (Trial-) Workshop in Singapore on 16.6.16

The SEADMA committee on skills training, led by Tim Tan and Lu Jin Ping has decided to stage a trial workshop in Singapore. The "SEADMA Professional Skills Training on Basic Principles of Tile Installation for Tradesmen with Hands-On Application" takes place on Thursday, 16. June 2016 in Sungei Kadut, Singapore. Goal of this trial workshop is to gain experience in working with construction laborers and to refine the curriculum for the basic classes of SEADMA's Mortar College.

Since the beginning of this year, the SEADMA Committee has explored several options of skills training programs on all levels of the construction trade. SEADMA is in close cooperation with The Building and Construction Authority Singapore (BCA) and wants to integrate its trainings eventually with the skills training program BCA offers and coordinates for unskilled foreign laborers in Singapore.

This training is for construction workers only, industrial observers are permitted however, admission is S$ 400, reduced to S$ 150 for SEADMA or drymix.info members. Attendance is limited, so only one person per company can be accepted (sorry about that).

SEADMA encourages all its members from Singapore and beyond to actively participate in the preparation of future workshops and will conduct an internal feedback round on 16.6.16 after the actual skills training. The results of this feedback will be made available to all SEADMA members in July. Further information is available at drymix.info, sponsors are welcome, too.
