2. Second Egypt Drymix Mortar Meeting, 15OCT26: with Expert Forum on Rebuilding Gaza

drymix.info, The International Community for Drymix Mortars and The Middle East Drymix Mortar Association MEDMA invite to the Second Egypt Drymix Mortar Meeting, taking place at the brand-new Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU), in Badr City (to the East of New Cairo). Our Technical Chair is Prof. Dr. Ghada Bassioni, Ain Shams University, Cairo, assisted by Prof. Dr. Johann Plank of Technische Universität München (TUM), and Ferdinand Leopolder (Executive Secretary, MEDMA). We published our preliminary program in our last Newsletter, here are some important recent additions: Assoc. Prod. Dr. Amr Ibrahim Ibrahim Helmy of British University in Egypt (BEU) has announced his presence and will propose a topic for lecturing. Also added to our program: the Expert Forum on Rebuilding Gaza, confirmed on our panel so far are Prof. Dr. Johann Plank (TUM), Eng. Mohamed El Daghashy, CEO, 3S Ready Mix (Hassan Allam Holding) and Dr. Tawheed Hashem, Creative DOT Holding (other contributors tbd.), Ferdinand Leopolder will moderate our Expert Forum. Due to the amount of new submissions, we have to cancel our tour to New Administrative Capital, we are sorry for any inconvenience.

3. The 9th India Drymix Mortar Conference, New Delhi, 29. October 2026: Program

The 9th India Drymix Mortar Conference and Industry Showcase brings together drymix mortar experts from the Indian Subcontinent. It takes place at the LaLiT Hotel in New Delhi, on Thursday, 29. 4. drymix.info Discontinues Conference Bags in 2027 – Time to book Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2027

For almost 20 years, we have distributed conference bags with brochures and goodies supplied by our sponsors to each delegate worldwide (to be exact: 13.376 until today !!). In a real effort to improve sustainability and realizing the fact that electronic media for promotion are being used abundantly by our supporters nowadays, we will discontinue offering those bags in 2027. So, the last bag will be the one offered in Bangkok at the 19th Annual SEADMA Conference (collector’s item – still available for sponsoring!). Of course, our gold sponsors retain the right to distribute their materials at their tabletop in our Industry Showcase. A new exclusive sponsoring item are branded pens and writing pads at all our conferences and meetings, please inquire with us.

Instead of distributing conference material at conferences we propose publishing in the Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2027, which gives you much wider exposure as the publication will be provided to all delegates at all events hosted and organized by drymix.info in the course of 2027. 5. H.B. Fuller Refuses Unsolicited Offer by Ancora for its Construction Adhesives Business

The board of H. B. Fuller Company, St. Paul, MN, USA, has unanimously refused an unsolicited, non-binding offer for its construction adhesives business („Building Adhesives Solutions“, BAS) by investment management firm Ancora Holdings Group, LLC, Cleveland, OH, USA. Ancora had offered approx. 1.000 mio Euro (USD 1.200 mio) for H.B. Fuller's BAS division in August. Teresa J. Rasmussen, Chair of the Board of H.B. Fuller, decided to publish a letter written to Ancora on behalf of the board, clarifying their dynamic strategy with and for the BAS Division and its multiple internal synergies, both in terms of personnel as well as concerning production location integration.

6. MC-Bauchemie Opens New Subsidiaries in Central Asia, East Africa and South America

MC-Bauchemie Müller GmbH & Co. KG, Bottrop, Germany, has opened new subsidiaries in Astana, Kazhakhstan and Tashkent, Uzbekistan earlier this year. In Kazhakhstan, Mc-Bauchemie operates at two locations (Astana and Almaty) and plans an investment in the production of concrete admixture, to be commissioned in mid-2027.

Quite recently (June 2026), MC-Bauchemie Paraguay S.A. was formed in Asunción, Paraguay. This new subsidiary is a joint-venture with Plastizil S.A., founded in 1976. This cooperation gives MC-Bauchemie the advantage of an existing local infrastructure for warehousing, production, sales and laboratory activities. With this new subsidiary, MC-Bauchemie operates in 7 countries in South America.

This month, MC-Bauchemie Uganda, Kampala, was formally established. With this new subsidiary, MC-Bauchemie operates in 7 countries in Africa.

7. Holcim Takes over Fermacell from James Hardie

Holcim Group, Zug, Switzerland, has entered into an agreement to acquire Fermacell, Düsseldorf, Germany, from James Hardie Industries plc., London, United Kingdom. Fermacell produces wall and flooring fiber-reinfoced cement panels for interior applications and fire-proofing. The company has over 1.000 employees, operates six plants throughout Europe and has forecasted net sales of around 430 mio Euro for 2026. The reported transaction value is 840 mio Euro, the deal is still subject to customary conditions and regulatory clearances and is expected to close in early 2027.

8. Etex and Austrotherm in Talks about Ursa's XPS Business

Etex Group S.A., Brussels, Belgium is in exclusive discussions with Austrotherm G.m.b.H., Wopfing, Austria (part of Schmid Industrieholding G.m.b.H.) concerning a spin-off of Ursa's extruded polystyrene panels (XPS) business. Under this brand, Etex produces and markets the panels in Queis (Germany), Saint-Avold (France), El Pla (Spain) and Bondeno (Italy). According to Bernard Delvaux, CEO von Etex, the company wants to put their focus on mineral wool products, Heimo Pascher, CEO of Austrotherm sees synergies in strengtheing their XPS portfolio, both in terms of products and regions. Transaction values were not disclosed yet, also, such a spin-off would be subject to the usual regulatory approvals.
