1. The 2nd UK and Ireland Drymix Mortar Meeting, Coventry, 08JUN26: Register now!

One day before Surfex 2026 in Coventry, an industry fair well worth visiting, we are going to meet at historic Coombe Abbey Hotel near Coventry, West Midlands, Great Britain on Monday, 8. June 2026. Come join us at this romantic location for our 2nd UK and Ireland Drymix Mortar Meeting. Registration has already started, the program can be found on our website. After the event, on Monday evening, Blackburn Chemicals and drymix.info invite all those staying on to a Pub Quiz in the Abbeygate, a Medieval Banquetting Hall, with surprises and glorious prices (RSVP mandatory).



Admission to our 2nd UK and Ireland Drymix Mortar Meeting is GBP 580 | 650 Euro per delegate, reduced to GBP 480 | 550 Euro for drymix.info members and partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only GBP 170 | 190 Euro p.p.. A special travel rebate is available for drymix mortar manufacturers coming from Ireland (incl. 2. The 2nd Southern Africa Drymix Mortar Meeting, Johannesburg, 21 and 20AUG26: Ponte City Excursion Added!

drymix.info is organizing the 2nd Southern Africa Drymix Mortar Meeting, taking place at Protea Hotel Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton on 20. and 21. August 2026 (excursion, see below). This key event for the drymix mortar industry of Southern Africa unites drymix mortar experts from Southern Africa to discuss our technology and its standardization with international peers. A major focus will be on the quality level of tile adhesives and strategies to install standards and certifications for this application. The Call for Papers has been extended until 31. May 2026.

NEW: On Friday, 21. August 2026, 10:00 a guided tour through Ponte City, the architectural landmark in downtown Johannesburg (featured in our Drymix Mortar Yearbook 2026) takes place (open to all delegates, RSVP mandatory).

Admission to our 2nd Southern Africa Drymix Mortar Meeting is ZAR 11.000 | 550 Euro per delegate, reduced to ZAR 9.000 | 450 Euro for drymix.info members and partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only ZAR 3.500 | 190 Euro p.p.. A special travel rebate is available for drymix mortar manufacturers coming from outside the Gauteng and Free State Provinces, please inquire with us. 3. Sinteplast (Argentina) Joins drymix.info as Member

Sinteplast, Carlos Spegazzini, Buenos Aures, Argentina has decided to join drymix.info as a member. The company, founded in 1959 is a producer of paints, coatings and construction materials with a particular focus on drymix mortars. Sinteplast operates 13 production plants across South America, with presences in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Paraguay.

4. Imerys Increases Prices for High Alumina Cements

Imerys S.A., Paris, France, has recently announced that it will implement a surcharge on all types of high alumina cements from its Performance Minerals division globally. The company attributes this measure to the ongoing geopolitical volatility in the Middle East, which impacts the global logistics and energy markets. The price increases became already effective in April, exact values of the surcharges were not disclosed.

5. MC-Bauchemie Australia Starts up New Plant in Adelaide, SA

MC-Bauchemie Australia, Rydalmere, NSW has opened up its new production facility in Adelaide last month. The start was celebrated in a ceremony, together with invited guests (customers and industry partners). After the integration of long-time distributor Building Chemical Supplies (BCS) in 2024, MC-Bauchemie has now added a new chemical facility to support the local markets for tunneling, mining as well as building and construction.

6. Heidelberg Materials Becomes Majority Stakeholder in Akçansa, Turkey

Heidelberg Materials AG, Heidelberg, Germany, has recently doubled its stake in  Akçansa, Ataşehir, Istanbul, Turkey. Heidelberg materials took over the shares of Hacı Ömer Sabancı Holding A.Ş., Istanbul, Turkey, thus becoming majority stakeholder with close to 80% of the shares of Akçansa. The company operates three cement plants, 26 ready-mix concrete plants, 5 aggregate quarries and strategically located terminals/seaports on the Marmara, Aegaen and Black Seas.

7. Imerys Signs Agreement to Acquire Great Lakes Minerals

Imerys S.A., Paris, France has recently announced the acquisition of Great Lakes Minerals, LLC. (GLM), Wurtland, KY, USA. GLM, founded in 1999, processes and distributes minerals for the abrasives, refractory and construction industries, including calcined bauxite, mullite and fused alumina. Great Lakes Minerals' production site is located on the Ohio River, suited for direct barge-to-plant raw materials handling. According to Imerys the GLM business is to reach turnover of 68 mio Euro (USD 80 mio) per year after the integration has been completed. The transaction value was not disclosed by either party. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of this year and is still subject to the customary closing conditions.
