1. Announcing for drymix.info events in Fall 2025: MEDMA, SEADMA and São Paulo

1.1. The 18th Annual SEADMA Conference takes place in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia on 16. October 2025. The Call for Papers has been published, it expires on 31. May 2025.

1.2. Drymix Mortars in the Middle East (The 18th Annual MEDMA Conference) takes place on 22. October 2025 in Sharjah, UAE. Technical Chairman for this event is Mohammed Sanaobar. The Call for Paper has been published, it expires on 31. May 2025. Info: MEDMA will be featured with a members and partners pavillion on Gulf Coatings Show, which takes place from 20. to 22. Ocotber 2025 at the same location.

1.3. The Eigth Latin American Drymix Mortar Conference ladmmc8 takes place in São Paulo, Brasil, on 13. November 2025. Technical Chairman for this conference is Mario Kristeller. The Call for Papers has been published, it expires on 31. March 2025.

1.4. No date determined yet, but happening in Fall/Winter 2025: MEDMA's Saudi Arabia Drymix Mortar Meeting and SEADMA's Myanmar Drymix Mortar Meeting

2. Record Attendance: 5th Philippine Drymix Mortar Meeting, Manila, 27FEB25

The South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA and The Philippine Drymix Mortar Manufacturers Association PhilDMMA (SEADMA's Philippine Chapter) are inviting all drymix mortar experts to the 5th Philippine Drymix Mortar Meeting, taking place at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City on 27. February 2025. This event is arranged also in cooperation with The Philippines Paints and Coatings Association PPCAI. Registration is running strongly, please complete your registration soon. Support and contributions for the 5th Philippine Drymix Mortar Meeting comes from ABC, Blackburn, Celotech, FLSmidth, Grand Aces, Haver & Boecker, Imerys, Magna Prime, Münzing Chemie, Omya, Rudolf Chemie, Sika and Wacker Chemie.

Delegate Admission is PHP 33.000 (550 EUR) per Person, reduced to PHP 27.000 (450 EUR) p.P. for drymix.info Partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only PHP 11.000 (190 EUR) p.P.

3. drymix.info Jubilee on 23. March 2025 at Ofenwerk, Nürnberg, Germany

Join our casual party  to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of drymix.info at historic Ofenwerk Nürnberg on Sunday, 23. March 2025 from 19:00. Team Frank2 prepares local and international foods, music comes from our band Trident, recent addition: singer/songwriter Lena Halve.  

Felicitators (supporters) of this evening are Ardex, Atlas, Avebe, Beumer, Blackburn Chemicals, Haver&Boecker, Imerys, Mapei, Sika, Testing Bluhm & Feuerherdt, Vincentz Verlag and Wacker Chemie. 4. idmmcX, Nürnberg, Germany, 24. March 2025

The 10th international Drymix Mortar Conference idmmcX and Industry Showcase takes place on Monday, 24. March 2024, 08:00 at Kleine Meistersingerhalle, Nürnberg: our flagship conference promises to become the largest live event ever for the drymix mortar industry. The Technical Chairman is Prof. Dr. Johann Plank, Technische Universität München (TM). The preliminary program can be found on our website.

Delegate Admission to idmmcX is 880,60 EUR per Person, reduced to 761,60 EUR p.P. for drymix.info Partners. Drymix mortar manufacturers pay only 345,10 EUR p.P. All rates include 19% German VAT. To register, visit our event website on drymix.info.

5. Casual drymix.info Evening during BAUMA 25, Munich, on 9. April 2025

Another great occasion to meet and network with industry experts: BAUMA 2025 in Munich - the world's largest industry show - featuring also our cosy, traditional get-together. Whoever is in town during BAUMA - don't miss the drymix.info evening on Wednesday, 9. April 2025 from 19:00. During BAU 25 in January, we went Eisstockschießen (bavarian curling), but it will be a bit too warm for that in April ... let us surprise you.

6. Retex Becomes Part of Soprema

Recubrimientos Texturizados S.A. de C.V. (Retex) of Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico recently announced, that its shares were fully taken over by Soprema Canada, Drummondville, Quebec, which is part of Soprema Group, Strasbourg, France. Retex produces drymix mortars for several applications and also offers water proofing solutions and several construction chemicals to its clients in Mexico and beyond. Soprema, founded in 1908, has a focus on waterproofing, waterstops, (green) roofing and insulation products with various binders such as modified bitumen, PVC and SBR. Eng. Mario Peón Caire, President of Retex, will remain in the company as Director of Development for Soprema's new Retex Division. A transaction value was not given by either party, both companies plan to operate as usual, no change to the current structure is planned.

7. Perstorp joins drymix.info as Industrial Partner

Perstorp AB of Malmö, Sweden, has decided to join drymix.info as Industrial Partner. Founded 140 years ago, today Perstorp is a globally active specialty chemicals company with focus on the resins, coatings, engineered fluids and animal nutrition markets. In the drymix mortar industry, Perstorp is known for their set-accelerators and other dry additives.

8. Münzing Starts Operational Base in Singapore

Münzing Chemie GmbH of Abstatt, Germany, has announced the establishment of Münzing Singapore Pte Ltd, its first operational base in South East Asia, serving as regional headquarters for Asia. Alongside the existing production sites in Malaysia and Australia and several regional sales offices, the new Singapore facility is the centralized warehousing hub for the Asia Pacific market.

9. MC-Bauchemie Opens New Plant in Bolivia

MC-Bauchemie Müller GmbH & Co. KG, Bottrop, Germany has recently started up up its first facility at in the Guapilo industrial centre in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The new plant is dedicated to producing liquid products such as acrylates, concrete admixtures, curing agents, waterproofing solutions and release agents. Initially, it has a capacity of up to one million liters per month which can be increased eventually. By 2026, MC-Bauchemie plans to install capacities for the production of cementitious drymix mortars. MC-Bauchemie runs production plants in Brasil, Chile and Peru (we reported earlier).

10. Bumatech Joins SEADMA as Member

Bumatech Co., Ltd of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has decided to join the South East Asia Drymix Mortar Association SEADMA as a Member. Bumatech (BUilding MAterials TECHnology), established in 2015, is a manufacturer of drymix mortars such as tile adhesives and grouts, flooring screeds, self leveling underlayment, dry shake hardeners, non-shrink grouts and waterproofing mortars with a total capacity of 5 000 tons/month. In addition, Bumatech also produces liquid waterproofing systems.

11. BASF to Sell its XPS Business to Bachl

BASF SE of Ludwigshafen, has signed an agreement with Karl Bachl Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH & Co. KG of Röhrnbach, Germany, for the sale of its production and sales activities of extruded polystyrene (XPS, tradename Styrodur). Bachl, a manufacturer of insulation materials including XPS panels, has been a distribution partner of BASF for XPS systems. The sale is subject to the approval of the relevant competition authorities, the completion of the sale is expected by mid-2025. A transaction value was not disclosed by either party.

12. Sika Opens New Plants in Singapore and China

Sika of Baar, Switzerland, opens new plants in Tuas, Singapore and in Xi'an in Northwest China. The Singapore plant is specialized in the production of drymix mortars to cater to local customers in the metropolitan area. The Xi’an plant produces a full range of Sika products including tile adhesives, cementitious waterproofing and flooring solutions. With this addition, Sika now operates 35 manufacturing facilities across China.
