1. PPM-Meeting and 18th Annual SEADMA Conference, Kuala Lumpur, 16. October 2025

As the key event on drymix mortar in the ASEAN Region, the 18th Annual SEADMA Conference is opening its doors on 16. October 2025 at One World Hotel Petaling Jaya (KL Metro Area). This time around, also Pertubuhan Pengilan Mortar Pra-Bancuh Malaysia | Malaysia Drymix Mortar Manufacturer's Association (PPM) acts as host and invites all its member companies. Our Technical Chairman is Philippe Russo and our Keynote Speaker is Ir Ts Dr Muhammad Izzal Ismail, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of SIRIM Industrial Research. Support for our PPM 2025 | 18th Annual SEADMA Conference comes from Ardex-Quicseal, Calucem, Celotech, Cimsa, Haver & Boecker, Imerys, Mapei, Münzing, NFLG, Organik Kimya, Poraver, Scientex, Synthomer and Wacker Chemie, as well as from SEADMA Chapters Promindo (Indonesia), PPM (Malaysia), PhilDMMA (The Philippines) and ThaiDMMA (a division of TCA Thailand).

Drymix Mortars in the Middle East – The 18th Annual MEDMA Conference takes place at Sharjah Expo on 22. October 2025. Our Technical Chairman is Mohammed Sanaobar, the Keynote comes from Dr. Ahmad Bakir of American University of Sharjah. We are proud to highlight the contributions of three major UAE Universities: Abu Dhabi University, American University of Sharjah and University of Sharjah (Dr. Ahed Habib | An Approach for Porosity-Driven AI-Based Concrete Compressive Strength Prediction). Also, our Technical Workgroup will report on the progress of the Standardization, Certification and enforcement project for Cementitious Tile Adhesives (CTA). Another recent addition to our program is Dow | Dr. Noor Zaouri | Cellulose Ether (CE) and Low Clinker Cement (LCC): How can CE Contribute to the Decarbonization Strategy of Mortar Producers?.

4. Saint-Gobain Weber Integrates Drymix Mortar Businesses with Franken Maxit

Saint-Gobain Weber GmbH, Düsseldorf, Germany, is reorganizing its construction chemicals business in Germany. Saint-Gobain Weber's drymix mortar and facade business is being transferred to the joint venture Franken Maxit Mauermörtel GmbH & Co. KG, Azendorf, Franconia, Germany, an existing joint venture between Kalkwerk Johann Bergmann GmbH & Co. KG (which carries on the „maxit“ tradename) and Saint-Gobain Weber. Following the transaction, the joint venture will have 17 production locations in Germany and Czechia with over 1,200 employees. The merge is expected to be completed by the end of September 2025.

5. Kerakoll Takes over PAC Technologies in Dubai, UAE

Assets and shares of PAC Technologies LLC, Dubai Industrial City, UAE (part of IDC Group, Abu Dhabi, UAE), have recently been taken over by Kerakoll Spa, Sassuolo, Italy. PAC was established in 2007 and produces cement grinding aids, concrete admixtures and other construction chemicals (e.g. waterproofing, flooring) as well as a portfolio of cementitious drymix mortars (e.g. Renders, Tile Adhesives, Grouts). „This takeover is an important step (of our company into) the region“, said Saed Mattar, regional director MEA & GCC at Kerakoll Group,“it enables us to immediately start producing (the Kerakoll portfolio) for the GCC.“ The production units and the entire team of PAC Technologies will be integrated into Kerakoll.

6. Organik Kimya Starts up a New Emulsion Plant in Istanbul

Organik Kimya san tic a ş, Istanbul, Turkey, has recently commissioned a new reactor for dispersions at its Kemerburgaz/Istanbul site. According to Organik Kimya, the investment is intended to increase capacity for water-based emulsions for coatings, adhesives and construction applications. It will also to give more flexibility for for customer-specific developments. in addition, the reactor feeds into the recently expanded production of redispersible powders. The invested amount and the size of the reactor were not disclosed.
